ACCESS
Cars are allowed in the park on Friday nights. There is a parking lot close to the Nature Center which has a slighting inclined path that leads the grassy areas where we will be dancing. The surface for dancing is well-mowed grass. Unfortunately, High Park subway does not have an elevator (TTC is planning elevator installation for 2023).
If you are unable to wear a mask due to medical reason there will be some activities that you will not be able to participate in. You will be able to participate in all solo practice.
COST
$5to $25 sliding scale based on what you can afford.
IF IT RAINS:
The event is canceled if it rains.
PAYMENT
-Advance Payment-http://TorontoFridayOutdoorDanceJam.eventzilla.net
We ask that if the event is canceled due to rain you use your registration for the next jam. We ask you to do this because RDDP resources to process returns in the case of rain are limited.
-Chip Reader-
There is also a chip reader at the jam which you may use to pay with debit or credit. Touchless tapping available for most types of cards.
- Cash -
We take cash but only exact change. We do not take coins and so we only accept paper money.
POD SIZE
Please note if more than 9 people show up we will divide into smaller pods so that we will stay within the government recommended gathering of only ten people. Once pods are formed people are not allowed to pod-hop. This means you will only dance with the pod you are in from the start. We know this might not be ideal for people but it is the only way we can stay within government regulations.
MASKING WILL BE REQUIRED AT TIMES
You must bring a mask that covers your nose, mouth, and chin.
These are examples of times that you will be required to wear a mask
- During initial registration and use of the chip reader to protect our registrar
- If you are having a physical distance dance with a fellow dancer and they ask you to wear a mask you will need to mask-up to continue the dance.
Please note if you cannot wear a mask due to medical reasons you will need to bring a doctor's note stating this and you might not be able to participate in all activities taking place at the jam.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING
Everyone who attends must bring:
- a mask that covers nose, mouth, and chin
- their own hand sanitizer
